Financal Analyst / General Accountant is required by a leading Global Pharmaceutical company based in Cork. In this role the new Financal Analyst / General Accountant will:
o Ensure accuracy of financial accounting entries in manufacturing entities under US GAAP accounting rules.
o Preparation of statutory financial accounts under local GAAP for share scheme, pension and manufacturing entities. Co-ordination with auditors re audit and submission of same.
o Work with cost/management accountants to ensure all manufacturing accounts are accurately stated at monthly (& quarterly/year-end) close
o Monitor accounting processes carried out by Irish Financial Shared Service Centre and Outsourced Accounting partner. Liaise with those teams on weekly basis to agree work-plan & advise on accounting postings where necessary
o Prepare monthly account reconciliations for all assigned accounts on the general ledger using online reconciliation system.
o Ensure Intercompany accounting processes are adhered to, and all intercompany accounting instructions followed and acted upon in a timely manner.
o Local management reporting – perform review of OPEX (Operating Expense) results v’s budget for all material categories of expense, highlighting trends and forecasting projected future OPEX variances.
o Carry out ongoing review of spend on significant outsourced contracts and measure costs against agreed contract terms. Highlight areas of concern and suggest areas for improvement.
The Financal Analyst / General Accountant requires:
o Qualified Accountant ACA/ CIMA/CPA/ACCA with 1-2 years PQE
o Excellent knowledge and experience in preparing financial statements under IFRS and local GAAP
o Strong organisational and documentation skills
o Knowledge of US GAAP desirable
o Experience with SAP. desirable
