LSC now are seeking a Process/Project Engineer for a 2 year contract with a global Biotech Multinational in the Cork area. Working on a major biopharmaceutical project the successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of engineering support during all phases from Design through to Qualification. The role will also provide oversight of the technical aspects of design, procurement, installation, commissioning & qualification. Candidates will need to have experience working in the biotech sector.

Responsibilities include:
o Provide technical input and oversight to all aspects of engineering design.
o Review testing protocols, reports and applicable manufacturing SOPs.
o Ensure all equipment installed is safe, effective and in compliance with industry standards and as per the design intent.
o Support equipment commissioning and qualification.
o Provide routine equipment technical support and troubleshooting.
o Provide technical training on process and equipment as required by Operations.

Qualifications & Experience:
o Minimum qualification of a Primary Degree in Engineering, Science or equivalent with emphasis in biochemical engineering.
o 3 – 5 years experience, ideally in a biotech environment with an understanding of process, unit operations, and equipment associated with commercial biotechnology purification processes:
o Chromatography
o Filtration (Terminal and TFF)
o Single use assemblies
o Aseptic techniques
o CIP & SIP
o Demonstrated ability to provide technical solutions for complex problems through equipment/process knowledge.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently
o Aptitude in leading and managing project work/teams.
o A collaborative approach to problem solving
