Job Description

Associate Scientist-MSAT Purification is required for a Cork based Biopharmaceutical company. The site manufactures low volume bulk API for Phase III clinical trials, initial product launch and long term market support. The team on site grow, purify, formulate and bulk fill mammalian cell culture derived APIs for medicines intended for human use. The site is currently moving from commissioning into full scale commercial operations. The Associate Scientist will:
o Knowledgeable in protein science and in protein purification technologies.
o Run the purification operations of a laboratory scale downstream process for a recombinant enzyme active ingredient.
o Test samples from the downstream process for identity and purity.
o Provide technical support for ongoing manufacturing protein purification processes.
o Participate in providing manufacturing with critical information necessary for maintaining consistent product supply, now and in the future.
o Effective execution of experiments and basic problem solving.

The Associate Scientist will require:
o Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or biopharmaceutical engineering
o 2-5 years relevant purification experience in process development or Manufacturing Sciences, or Master’s degree with 1-3 years experience.
o Minimum of 1 year bio-pharmaceutical experience in purification.

NOTE: Periodic week-end laboratory work and/or on call support will be required on a team rotation basis.
